Oyo State House of Assembly has constituted a committee to
evolve a permanent solution to the herdsmen-farmers crisis in the state. The
Assembly at its plenary in Ibadan on yesterday constituted the committee to be
headed by the Majority Leader, Hon. Kehinde Subair.
The Speaker, Hon. Michael Adeyemo charged the feuding parties
and concerned stakeholders, who appeared at the plenary following a summon, to
co-exist peacefully. Among them were the Permanent Secretary and Director,
Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Commissioner of
Police as well as representatives of the herdsmen and farmers.
This is a great step toward curbing the frequent clash that
do occur between the herdsmen and farmers in the state.
