40 years old Mumini Muritala who lived in the Omilabu part
of Ibadan was alleged involved in a fracas with two sons of his landlord, Yusuf
and Habeeb Adegbayi, after Yusuf had locked Mumini and his daughter outside the
house at about 9:00pm on Friday night.
Testimony from Mumini’s wife, Shakirat has it that Yusuf had
slapped her husband in the heat of the argument and when the man tried to
retaliate, he was jointly beaten up by the two brothers. Yusuf later came to
hit Mumini with a ring which sent the man falling. He was taken to a nearby
hospital but could not make it out alive.
The suspects father who is also the landlord has consequently
been arrested and detained at the Idi Aro police station as both suspects have
fled, but the Police says efforts are on the high to nab them.
