At the official launch of the Western Post newspaper in
Ibadan yesterday, Governor Abiola Ajimobi who was represented by the Deputy
Governor said that it was continued lack of good governance at the center that
has made an integration of the south-west region necessary in order to promote
their economic strategies rather than continue to depend on a single source of
national revenue.
His Osun state counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola who was
represented by his state’s Director of Communication and Strategy, Mr Semiu
Okanlawon, also said Osun state is in full support of regional integration. He said
further that “the first thing we need is to understand the comparative
advantage of the concept. Each of the states has what they have in common and
they need to utilize it.”
