Oyo State Government To Re-Introduce Extra Murals Lessons In Secondary Schools


Oyo State Government has vowed to address the fallen standard of education in the state by adopting a proactive measure agreed by the education stakeholders in the state.

Abiola Ajimobi in a 12 points communiqué read indicates that his administration will re introduce extra mural lessons in all schools in the state to ensure adequate coverage of the syllabus.

He also sanctioned the banning of mobile telephone in all public schools to reduce the rate of distraction within the school hours, coupled with the cancellation of automatic promotion within the school system in the state.
Governor Ajimobi also said that open Day will hence forth be made compulsory for parents in all schools to monitor the performance of their children. 

In a remark the chairman of the state chapter of the Parents Teachers Association, Mr. Abiodun Jimoh, who spoke at the meeting held in Mapo Hall, Ibadan said it is necessary to support the new policy of the state government to improve on the standard of education in the state.
