A petroleum
marketer in Ibadan, Ojo Ishaq, has written an open letter of appeal to the
Federal Government against the extortion of Petroleum marketers in Oyo state by
the Department of Weight and Measure of the Federal Ministry of Trade office in
Ibadan.
He claims that
the Department has become a thorn in the flesh of petroleum marketers in the
state as they have habitually taken illegal levies from marketers, making fraudulent
gains off them. He also said that the NNPC depot in Ibadan has not been selling
petroleum to marketers, forcing the latter to get their consignment from Lagos
and minimizing their profits. The Department
still come to extort them of their little profits.
