Oyo State Football Association Board Fired

Chairman of the Oyo State Football Association (OSFA) Chief James Odeniran, said in a statement over the weekend that a caretaker committee to run affairs of the IFA pending the outcome of investigation being carried out by a probe panel set up for the purpose, has been constituted. This development occurred as a result of allegation bordering on corruption and non-football related matters.

According to reports, the statement read in part that: “Over a period of time, we have been inundated with petitions and oral complaints by various stakeholders in Ibadanland and Oyo State over the activities of the board of Ibadan Football Association (IFA).

“We met with the board of IFA on 3rd of July 2015 in their office at Olubadan Stadium and raised these allegations before them, but the IFA board failed to come up with a satisfactory explanations or defense of these allegations....
“As the only body with supervisory authority over Ibadan Football Association, we have no choice but act before the matter degenerated beyond remedy.”
Dr Abiodun Salami has been named as the statutory chairman of the Committee while Mr Olaleye Akintunde is to serve as the Secretary among five other members.
