Retirees and pensioners of the Oyo state Civil Service have
cried out once again on issues bothering on the non-payment of their arrears
for several months. The retirees who stormed the state government secretariat
at Agodi, Ibadan bore carried placards bearing their griviances and appeal to
the Federal government to help them out.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners in the
state, Alhaji Ismail Akinola said they are been owed between 10 to 27 months of
pension arrears across various levels. The NUP Chairs expressed the expectation
of other retirees that they will be paid their arrears from the bailout the
Federal government gave to the state.
