The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole has been invited to serve as a member of the International Advisory Board of African Cancer Institute (ACI) in recognition of his profundity and of his expertise in the area of cancer research, diagnosis and treatment.
In a letter signed by the ACI Director, Juanita Paulse, dated 26 August, 2015, the UI ‘Governor’ was urged to accept the offer and make available his knowledge for the development of the Institute.
ACI is an internationally recognized comprehensive cancer research centre, conducting and coordinating multidisciplinary research relevant to Africa. It is also a strong platform for scholarly growth and knowledge production in pursuit of high quality evidence-based cancer care.
The ACI offer is coming on the heels of a recent honour by the University of Sunderland which conferred on Prof. Adewole, the award of Doctorate of Science, in appreciation of the Obstetrician and Gynacologist turned university administrator’s contributions to the field of medicine .
Indeed, if the reward of hard work is opportunities to do more, then , it could be said that Prof. Adewole will have his hands full once his tenure ends on 30th November, 2015 as the Vice Chancellor of the great University of Ibadan.
