Police Rescue Kidnapped Businessman In Ibadan

Oyo State Police Command has rescued a Lagos-based businessman, Alhaji Abdul Akeem Amoo, who was kidnapped by some yet-to-be-identified men around the Oluyole Local Government Area of Ibadan, Oyo state.
He was on Sunday afternoon rescued by a police patrol team at Idi-Ayunre in the same local government area of the state.

The 54-year-old businessman, according to police sources, was kidnapped during a visit to his quarry and mining firm located at Ese-Apata via Abanla in the area. He had gone to the site with a view to paying some of his staff at the quarry and some of the contractors supplying him diesel and those rendering him supplementary services.
The police source added that Alhaji Amoo had the sum of N2 million in the boot of the blue Honda Accord car he rode to the site. It was meant to settle the various payments he intended to make.
As the victim got to the site, 10 hoodlums reportedly pounced on him and inflicted several injuries on him before forcing him and one of his employees whose name is given as, Adeleke Yahaya, into an unmarked Toyota Hillux Van.
Alhaji Amoo’s hands were also said to have been tied before he and Adeleke were sandwiched among the suspected kidnappers before being driven away.
