Ibadan Polytechnic Begins Indefinite Strike

Members of the Non Academic Staff Union, NASU of the Polytechnic of Ibadan, yesterday stormed the south gate of the institution with placards bearing different inscriptions calling on the management of the polytechnic to end their suffering.

Chairman of the union, Mr. Kehinde Nihinlola explained that the development was due to untold hardship the non-payment of the monthly salary had brought upon them.

He noted that the union had written a series of letters to the management of the institution but yielded no positive outcome.

The communiqué sent to the school management read:


The management should as a matter of urgency prevail on the state government to pay all our outstanding salaries and wages from April till date.” “Henceforth, members’ salaries should be paid in full without the deduction due to the cooperative and members. The union will not call off the strike until our demands are met.
