Billionaire Harry Akande is also the father in-law of popular actress and ambassador to many brands, Dakore Akande. Dakore married the billionaire’s first son and the couple already have two kids together. The chief looks young as ever.

I Was A Bus Driver When I Was In Ibadan Polytechnic- Fayose Humbly Says

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has disclosed he was a bus driver while in tertiary institution- Ibadan Polytechnic. The governor disclosed this yesterday while swearing in new state excos of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria in Ado Ekiti. He said;

“Please, I want to commend you for contributing immensely to the development of the state’s economy, but don’t allow yourselves to be used by evil-doers. You can see that some kidnappers were paraded recently. Information from them revealed that they have been using some of your members. I was once a driver like you. I used the money I got from driving to sponsor myself for HND at Ibadan Polytechnic, but I did not get desperate. All I’m saying is that being a driver you can make it in life. You will become what you want to become in life with hard work. Don’t join evil gang for you to get rich overnight, try and rise through the ladder like we did.”

Good to know he is part of the product of this beautiful town.

Toyin Lawani Hits Ibadan To Jump-Start Reality TV Series

We can report authoritatively that Toyin Lawani is in the city of Ibadan to jump-start her own reality TV show. The shoot of the reality TV is on-going in Ibadan, Oyo State which she says it’s her root and she can’t just start a reality show except she goes back home- where it all started. She also informed that her Grandpa, Elijah Babalola was a one-time minister of works and her grandma, the Adele Oba of Ikole Ekiti and one time Chief Justice of Oyo State. See more photos below.

UI Emerges Best University In Nigeria, 8th In Africa

The University of Ibadan has emerged the best in Nigeria and eighth in Africa for 2015 in latest ranking of African universities and higher institutions conducted by Journals Consortium.

The 2015 Journals Consortium rating of 1,447 universities utilised research publications and citations from the last five years (2010 to 2014) as well as visibility on the internet.

South African institutions which occupied six of the first best 10 institutions, with the University of Cape Town topping the list followed by Cairo University and the University of Pretoria respectively.

The top 10 include six institutions from South Africa, two from Egypt and one each from Kenya and Nigeria (University of Ibadan).
